After the first two rounds in MotoGP it's Casey Stoner versus Jorge Lorenzo in the standings.

In the opening round in Qatar Casey Stoner dominated the first part of the race as he sprinted away from Lorenzo and team mate Dani Pedrosa. But lte in the race arm pump issues forced Stoner to back off and fall back and he was quickly caught and passed by Lorenzo and Pedrosa in the dying laps of the race.

But in the second round at Jerez Stoner fought back in an epic race duel with Lorenzo. After some aggressive racing in the beginning the race soon settled into a straight match between Stoner and Lorenzo. A duel that finished only in the very last lap when Stoner could pass the finish line as the winner, narrowly ahead of Lorenzo.

Lorenzo now heads the standings after two rounds ahead of Stoner. Dani Pedrosa is a close third after two podiums in the first two rounds ahead of Cal Croutchlow in fourth place. The brit who had a tough rookie season last year has impressed so far this season with two strong races to fourth place on his Tech 3 Yamaha.

MotoGP now resumes the action this weekend at Estoril in Portugal.

World Superbike also gets into action this weekend as they go to Monza for the fourth round in the championship. It's a close fight between Max Biaggi who heads the standings one point ahead of Carlos Checa who has won three of the first six races.
