Öhlins shock absorbers have been spotted on racing cars long before Öhlins started the manufacturing of racing car shock absorbers!
Thanks to the design, the Öhlins motorcycle shocks could be modified to fit almost any type of car… and they were. Today Öhlins is marketing a complete line of shock absorbers for racing cars. The shocks are designed to comply with different regulations, from the very free Formula 1 to the very strict Formula Renault.
Most shocks are tailor-made for one application… but can be modified to fit almost any!
The TTX40 MkII damper is the culmination of threee decades of Öhlins successful participation in world championship events. Many years of work together with some of the world's most successful racing teams in Champ car (CART), DTM, GT-, LeMans , Formula 1 etc. This in combination with advanced dynamic analysis methods developed at Öhlins Racing headquarter in Sweden, has given the unique knowledge needed to design the TTX40 damper.

TTX36 The TTX 36 brings TTX performance to a wider audience by focusing on adjustability, durability and ease of maintainence. Utilizing a twin tube design and solid piston, the TTX 36 delivers the performance of high-end products at mid-range cost. Since all damping is generated in the external valves, the fully pressure ballanced adjustment range is maximized from the simple turning of adjusters.
TTX 40 Features:

|
This new Twin Tube damper has a 40 mm piston and a "through rod" shaft without any external gas reservoir. The top eye can easily be re-clocked without opening the damper. Due to the powerful external adjusters, opening the shock for valve changing can be reduced to a minimum. Sometimes new settings can be made even without taking the damper off the car.
In the TTX40 the risk of cavitation is minimized and any reservoir valve is unecessary. So, no balancing of reservoir damping to main piston damping has to be done to avoid cavitation and improve damping response. Maximum response will always occur. With no reservoir valve, the internal pressure of the damper unit will be kept to a minimum. The low amount of hysteresis results in excellent short stroke/high force performance. Also a very low gas pressure can be used, without any loss of damping performance. |

ST44 Features: |
 |
|
The Öhlins ST44 suspension is based on the performance from the TT44. It features an all aluminium body and cylinder head shock absorber. Whilst it shares the same piston as the TT44, it is a single tube shock absorber that allows the use of 2” springs. It has two external adjusters, one compression adjuster and one rebound adjuster.
Its cylinder head design adapts to fit either piggy back or hose mounted reservoirs. The cylinderhead can be rotated through 360°.
ST 44 models allow individual adjustment of compression and rebound damping, and also a certain amount of adjustment of the length of the shock absorber.
The ST44 is possible to get for either 51, 57 or 36 mm spring |

S46 HR1C1 Features: |
|

|
|
Öhlins’ new range of racing shock absorbers is based on the race proven Öhlins S46HR1C1, a shock absorber featuring a large 46 mm piston for quick response, a hose mounted reservoir for better cooling and separate rebound and compression damping adjusters.
It has a large reservoir for better cooling and 2-way adjustable damping. Some models have an adjustable front camber.
This shock absorber gives a quick response for best handling and produces optimum consistency on long runs.
S36HR1C1 Features: Öhlins' has a damper of S36 HR1C1. The same spec. as the 46 type but for smaller and lighter vehicles and spaces. Just as the 46 type it gives a quick response for best handling an produces optimum consistency on long runs. The S36 HR1C1 is also available as a piggy back called S36PR1C1. |
