There can’t be any tougher test for a shock absorber than rally and off-road racing. The stresses on these sorts of course are enormous. Durability, construction and handling are tested to the extreme. Shock absorbers must work perfectly despite the presence of stones, mud, water and high operating temperatures. Öhlins Racing’s car shock absorbers were born on off-road tracks. That’s why we know the requirements and what we have to do to see they are met.

Features:
The new generation of TTX Shock absorbers has evolved right in line with cutthroat world of Rally Series. Adjustable for both high and low speed compression and in rebound boosts twin tube TTX units. Fully pressure balanced, reducing any risk of cavitaton and enabling the use of low gas pressure to reduce internal friction.

TTX 46  McPherson Rally, S46HR1C2WQ1M1
Features:
The Öhlins TTX46 Rally is built to fit S2000 Rally Cars. It has got the PDS, Progressive Damping System, which works so that the damper doesn’t bottoms out but slowly increases the damping forces to slow down the movement and avoids the damper to crash. This saves the material not only the damper but also the entire suspension and makes the car to go longer with less wear.
A few years ago it was one of the components in Öhlins shock absorbers for WRC cars. Now it is generally available for Group N cars as well.

This is a McPherson strut with a 46mm piston with hose mounted external reservoir for improved cooling that gives more consistent damping and longer damper life. The strut is rebound-adjusted with a 2-way compression valve. It is a mono tube type with the separating piston inside a separate reservoir.
The suspension is available in both tarmac and gravel version. The Strut can be with or without PDS, Progressive Damping System.

ORQ-Series
Öhlins is introducing a new range of dampers for
Off-Road and Rally Raid Cars, which also can be
used on different kinds of vehicles, where this layout is suitable. The dampers are of 46 mm piston type with remote reservoirs. They have compression and rebound adjusters together with the Progressive Damping
System, PDS (S46HR1C1Q1W). The damper comes with
a protecting sleeve for spring wear together with circlips (not illustrated in the figure). Springs, spring platforms and spacers for the spherical bearings need to be ordered separately.
These dampers are available in three different lengths.

The S46PR1C1 is of a 46mm piston with external reservoir for improved cooling that gives more consistent damping and longer damper life. The shock is rebound-adjusted with a 1-way compression valve. It is a mono tube type with the separating piston inside a separate reservoir, connected to the shock absorber via a piggy back.
