Information

For Touring & GT, Öhlins Racing has developed shock absorbers that have proved themselves to be world class time and again.

Our work is based on function, quality, development and application. But perhaps our most important driving force is that we love to win!

The TTX40 damper is the culmination of threee decades of Öhlins successful participation in world championship events. Many years of work together with some of the world's most successful racing teams in Champ car (CART), DTM, GT-, LeMans , Formula 1 etc. This in combination with advanced dynamic analysis methods developed at Öhlins Racing headquarter in Sweden, has given the unique knowledge needed to design the TTX40 damper.

TTX46 McPherson for Touring Cars
Features:
The strut is a 46 mm type with a through rod of 30 mm. It is 4-way adjusted and all four adjusters work independently, high/low speed compression and high/low speed rebound. Approx. 40 clicks on the low speed and 50 clicks on the high speed, both on rebound and compression makes over 4.000.000 different settings on the standard strut.
As it has a solid piston, all setting changes are made on the adjuster valves. This means that you don’t need to dissasemble the shock to make a setting change; you just remove the valves and change the shims. Is possible to change the reservoir to point either front- or rearwards and down- or upwards if needed. Because of the TTX 46 struts unique design it’s possible to use similar strut on both left and right side. Use 60 mm springs for this TTX 46 McPherson strut.
The strut is available in a range of applications from the BMW E46 and E90, Porsche 997 RSR to a Universal strut that is easy to adapt to varius cars.
Dynographs are made visable in the VRP program that is downloadable at this site.

The strut is of a lightweight design, the weight is only 3.100 g for the entire strut.
Total length:  453 mm
Stroke:  116 mm

TTX40
Features:

car_ttx40.jpg

This new Twin Tube damper has a 40 mm piston and a "through rod" shaft without any external gasreservoir. The top eye can easily be re-clocked without opening the damper. Due to the powerful external adjusters, opening the shock for valve changing can be reduced to a minimum. Sometimes new settings can be made even without taking the damper off the car.

In the TTX40 the risk of cavitation is minimized and any reservoir valve is unecessary. So, no balancing of reservoir damping to main piston damping has to be done to avoid cavitation and improve damping response. Maximum response will always occur. With no reservoir valve, the internal pressure of the damper unit will be kept to a minimum. The low amount of hysteresis results in excellent short stroke/high force performance. Also a very low gas pressure can be used, without any loss of damping performance.

TT44/TT40
Features:
 car_tt44.jpg

The TT44/40 damper design is the culmination of two decades of Öhlins successful participation in world championship events. This damper draws on all the expertise developed by Öhlins while winning more than 60 World Championships.

The TT44 damper is designed to handle the demanding damping characteristics needed for all types of tracks, from street courses to super speedways. The ability to create high damping forces at very short strokes, combined with powerful adjusters, will give you outstanding performance and offer many new possibilities.
Please note that the damper is not available any more. See the TTX40 and the TTX46 instead.

36 HMRX
Features:
car_36hmrx.jpg   This is an improvment from the 36 HMRC. We have added a 2-way compression adjuster, which allows you to adjust the low- and high-speed compression damping independently of each circuit.

The 2-way compression adjuster is placed on the reservoir end and has a 13 mm hexagon for high-speed adjustment and a screw driver slot for lowspeed adjustment. Maximum compression damping is when the adjusters are fully closed, i.e., when the adjusters are turned fully clockwise.

All this together will give you the suspension you need, to meet your high demands on the track.

This strut is available for e.g. Porsche GT3 RS.

36 HMRC
Features:
car_36hmrc.jpg    This is a monotube McPherson type of strut with the separating piston inside a separate reservoir, connected to the strut via a hose.

It is developed for Porsche GT3-R Racing. But since we have experienced a growing customer interest in using race shocks for Porsche street cars improvements have been done. Therefore this strut is available for all Porsche fans.
