Öhlins has established a formidable reputation within the racing world for its dedication to performance and now everyone can experience the benefits of Öhlins suspension thanks to its Hypersports range of products.
With every rider in MotoGP and most of the World Superbike grid choosing to use Öhlins products, it is easy to see why the famous yellow spring is a common site on the front rows of race tracks the World over. And this determination to succeed drives the development of new products that are soon filtered down to Öhlins’ customers.
Öhlins’ Hypersport range of products can all trace their history back to World series racing, however thanks to the extensive work done by Öhlins’ technicians in developing their products, they are now available for all to buy. The TTX36 MKII shock absorber, for example, is based on technology gained through Öhlins’ racing efforts in MotoGP and World Superbike and for 2012 Öhlins has updated this class-leading product. The TTX36 MkII features an integrated hydraulic preload adjuster and contains Öhlins’ Twin Tube technology with inner and outer cylinders now reinforced for improved dynamic behaviour and improved performance. In addition, re-designed adjustors offer more accurate damping over a wider range than ever before and the whole shock absorber has been quality approved and improved by the experts at Öhlins in Sweden.
The predecessor to the MKII, the TTX36 has already established itself as the World’s premium shock absorber through unrivalled race success and is now fitted to a range of class leading road bikes including the Triumph Daytona 675R, Ducati 1198SP and Aprilia RSV4R Factory as original equipment and it is available for all major hypersport models. The MkII looks destined to continue this trend.
In addition to the TTX36 MkII shock absorber, the Hypersport Range includes a wide variety of front end modifications including new cartridge kits and replacement forks that are designed for both track and road use. Topping the range is the new FGRT 200 road and track forks. Using the hugely successful Road and Track forks as a base, Öhlins technicians improved them even further by adding the race winning 30mm cartridge kit inside. With adjustment of compression and rebound split between fork legs, these internal improvements give the FGRT 200 forks unrivalled performance whatever the situation. Available for a range of Hypersport bikes, the FGRT 200 forks also have a redesigned outer to make them even more visually appealing.
Based on the kits designed by the Öhlins Race Department and supplied to teams competing at the very highest level both on the World and national scene, the TTX25 cartridge kit comes with all the precision and quality that you would expect from an Öhlins product. The sophisticated kit incorporates the very latest Öhlins twin tube technology (TTX) and is pressurised to deliver the ultimate in both damping performance and feel. Designed for high end race use only the 25mm kit splits compression damping on the left fork leg and rebound damping on the right leg to offer the ultimate in fine damping control and precision, a set-up that is trusted by the World’s best.
Designed for road and track use, the Öhlins NIX30 30mm cartridge kit has been tested and developed in both World Supersport and World Superstock racing and is now original equipment as well as available for all major Hypersport models. The kit is easy to install, fits inside the original forks of most modern sportsbikes, and features external compression, rebound and spring preload adjustors with compression and rebound split between the fork legs for improved damping performance. As with all Öhlins products, a huge range of spring rates is available to fit the NIX30 kit.
