Newly developed for 2016, Öhlins launch the Road and Track NIX 22 front cartridge kit in small Supersport machine applications- perfect for this new wave of ‘pocket rockets’.
Owners of exciting small capacity sports bikes such as the Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha YZF-R3 can now match their Öhlins rear shocks with a compatible ‘front end’ option, to maximise the performance of these ‘pocket rockets’. Also available for these models; the FSK100 front spring set.
With race replica looks, owners of these learner friendly machines can now have suspension quality to match their bigger cousins. Using the technology and experience gained from the established NIX30 Supersport kit, this new range gives owners of a far wider range of bikes the chance to discover the Öhlins advantage.
Front suspension upgrades used to be considered the preserve of race and trackday riders but now riders of all machines can benefit from good handling, bump absorption and crucially a positive, confidence inspiring feeling from the ‘front end’.
Just like the NIX 30, the ‘22’ has the Öhlins proven “NIX” design which features compression damping in the left leg and rebound damping in the right leg, giving a more precise function and stability. Adjustments are made at the top of the fork, together with the spring preload, all designed to make alternation as easy as possible. The cartridge system is easy to install in all standard front forks.
The NIX22 joins the already available and cost effective Street Performance STX46 rear shock to give suspension performance at ‘both ends’. Another option available is the choice of replacement front springs (FSK100) for the bikes, giving a firmer front end feel, bump absorption and support when braking. The FSK100 kit consists of a replacement top cap (with external spring preload) and higher performance rate springs.
