STX36 Strut - Motorsports Automotive

Part no: POR 5L50

Select model

Our historic dampers are perfectly suited for a range of Porsche models, including the 901 (1964-1969, Generations A, B, C, D), 911 (1970-1989, Generations E, F, and G), and 930 (1976-1989, Turbo of Generation G), as well as the special derivatives from these years such as the ST, RS, RSR, Cabriolet, Speedster, etc. It's important to note, however, that these dampers are not compatible with models from 1989 and 1990, which were redesigned into the 964 / 965 wheel suspension.

A crucial consideration for these dampers is the requirement for front spindles designed for Bilstein inserts (characterized by the chrome tube facing upwards and the piston rod located near the spindle joint). Originally, only a limited number of vehicles, primarily racing and certain special models, were equipped with these. New Bilstein spindles can be purchased, though they are relatively expensive. If opting for used spindles, it's advised to replace the bushings before installing our dampers.

Vehicles originally equipped with Boge or Sachs dampers, featuring an upward-facing piston rod approximately 22 mm in diameter and the damper positioned in the spindle leg, will require the special Bilstein insert spindle for compatibility.

The front adjustable version has a 16 mm piston shaft hollowed with a valve and jet that is externally adjustable. This one adjuster adjusts both compression and rebound with the use of a bleed system and also has a temperature compensating system. It is also fully rebuildable and possible to tailor make settings for.

Compatible with the STX46 rear shock absorber: POR 6L00.

* Motorsport product only i.e. not for use on public roads.
